Nearly overnight in the early 2010s, a new wave of Avant-grade and high-fashion makeup washed over the world. Some argue it was the Kardashians; for others, the mere existence of social media is responsible. Regardless of the source, the makeup industry has intertwined itself into almost every other lifestyle-based industry that exists!

The Next Big Thing

With the rise of cannabis legalization, in addition to its growing acceptance, it was only a matter of time before the makeup industry would start to dabble in a bit of bud. The use of hemp in beauty products is not unheard of, but the cannabis industry's recent social acceptance has ignited a love of all things cannabis. Even department stores are accepting the cannabis-craze and adapting to a new generation of consumers!

“Our new CBD assortment is an important part of Neiman Marcus’ commitment to the health and well-being of our customers,” Kim D’Angelo, beauty buyer for Neiman Marcus, says in a company statement. “Cannabis beauty brands are becoming increasingly popular and CBD products are the next big thing in beauty.

With my past work in the makeup industry, the news is a dream come true. It's a combination of my two favorite things! Color-products in the makeup industry haven't taken off just yet, but skincare is paving the way.

The black-market and recreational market have always had topicals. Luxury topicals on the same caliber as Caudalie or Origins, however, are not the norm! So, of course, I had to share what new products the dreamy combination will bring.

If you're in the market for some hemp-inspired skincare or just want to try out the new cannabis trend, check out the list below. Share with your fellow skincare-lovers and let me know which ones you've tried or want to!
